“Play and Stay”, which also enjoys the support of the ATP/WTA Tour, is a structured educational proposal that knows no barriers, be they geographical or demographic, and is positioning itself alongside the educational infrastructure of Minitennis, which has already been in place for several years in European countries such as France, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Italy.
Driven by the slogan “Serve, rally and score”, the campaign aims to promote tennis as an easy, fun and healthy sport. With “Play and Stay” everyone may in fact learn to serve, rally and score points right from the first lesson, so that the initial tennis experiences can be positive and the old cliché that makes our sport difficult can be abandoned.
“Play and Stay” is all about learning tennis quickly by increasing the interaction with the teacher, making the ball slower and the racquet shorter, and actions are organised according to the Game Based Approach within a smaller playing surface (the court). The teacher becomes the key to the implementation of “Play and Stay” as the success lies in his ability to find information and organise more inclusive lessons, also from the technical point of view with the use of new educational materials.
Our mission is to introduce “Play and Stay” into as many Pre-Primary and Primary Schools as we can and courses are held around South Africa during the course of the year.
