St Mary’s Waverley is hoping to retain the title when it hosts the 14th Invitational Tennis Tournament from 17 to 19 February when eight teams will participate in the event.
There will be a wheelchair tennis demonstration at the opening of the Festival and play starts on Friday 17 February at 13h15, with the semi-finals and finals being played on Sunday 19 February. This promises to be a feast of excellent tennis with some of the top tennis schools in the country participating:
The teams are as follows:
- Pool A: St Mary’s Waverley, Hoerskool Menlopark, Meisieskool Oranje, Somerset College
- Pool B: St Andrew’s, Northcliff High, Pretoria High School for Girls, St Mary’s Kloof
St Mary’s, Waverley is seeded first for the event. In the finals last year they beat Meisieskool Oranje. The tennis festival was initiated in 1998 by St Mary’s Kloof.
